powernap software package provides reduce the power consumption of a system when inactive, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install powernap
powernap is installed in your system.
Make ensure the powernap package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep powernap *
You will get with powernap package name, version, architecture and description in a table
